Let go of those things that hold you back.

UnknownMy sister sent me this passage a couple of months ago.  I googled the origin of the passage and couldn’t find an author to attribute it to.  Please take a moment to read it.

As two Buddhist monks were walking down a wooded path, they came across a woman in fine clothes that had stopped by a small section ahead of her that had flooded.

“I want to get across without damaging my clothes. Can you help me?” the woman asked of the monks.

One immediately hoisted her up, sloshed through the flooded area, put her down, and continued on his way.

The other, initially stunned, had to hurry to catch up. He seethed for hours and through the night. In the morning upon waking and resuming their journey, he demanded, “How could you pick that woman up and carry her across! It is not our business to be caught up in her troubles! What concern of ours to care for the state of her clothes? We are living this life to remove ourselves from that sort of thing!”

The other calmly replied, “I put her down yesterday. Why are you still carrying her?”

Is there something that has been holding you back from achieving your goals?   Let go of the fear.  Rise above criticism.  Chase your dreams.

  1. I’m very pleased to uncover this page. I wanted to thank you for ones time just for this fantastic read!!
I definitely appreciated every bit of it and i
also have you book marked to look at new things in your web site.

  2. Sue-Check with my Aunt Dolores to see if she wants to rent her downstairs apretmant she is usually out at Beth’s, so she might want someone at the house to watch over things, or she might not want to bother. You could also contact Beth directly and ask her if she and her mom might want to rent it. Close by and cheap!!!On a completely different topic checked out all the local watering holes on Roscoe this past Friday night and they are all wheelchair accessible and can handle large groups, so a pub crawl on Roscoe is very doable (meaning we can crawl back to the apretmant)!!!Also, unrelated I haven’t been on the site in a while but wanted to give everyone an update on Dan’s status. He is over the halfway mark in his radiation treatments started week 5 this AM. He’s doing very well even with a bad cold. He gets up at 4 AM to do his daily constitutionals and has to drink 24 ozs. of water before heading to Glenview for his treatment at 6 AM. Next, it is off to work in Hoffman Estates he has worked from home a few days but for the most part is in the office 5 days a week. The drive alone would do me in, but he is remarkably positive. He should be done in mid November and then his hip surgery is scheduled for December 3rd! After all the insurance cost for the prostate cancer, the hip is free!!! He probably can’t join us the weekend of December 14th, but you never know beers are involved so he will probably hobble over!!! Thanks for all the prayer and positive thoughts you guys are the best!!!!

  3. Tom Not much of a contest here. Video #1 is well-planned, has a nartarive storyline, which is engaging, and it also captures the spirit of veganism animal compassion centered on animals’ sentient being-ness [which another voter already alluded to]. I am a vegan athlete and easily get caught up in the fun of this video. How could any vegan not vote for the parrot and #1. MY VOTE FOR #1.
