Healthy Snacks- New!

I know we all struggle to feed our kids healthy food. Eating healthy can be difficult if your child is picky or resistant to trying new things. I am not suggesting that I have perfected feeding my kids all healthy food and no junk! But, I love it when I get ideas from friends on healthy choices that are easy to try. Here are a few of my favorites- with video to back it up:
Apples with peanut butter are the number one snack in my family. My kids love apples on their own, but when they add a bit of peanut butter it adds protein to the mix and helps the snack LAST in their tummy for a bit longer.
Frozen yogurt tubes are like ice cream, but with less sugar and fat ( you should make sure you get a healthy choice of yogurt, I like Yo Kids). When I come home from the market, I put the box in the freezer instead of refrigerator. They make a healthy desert or afternoon snack. Also, if you put them in a lunch box in the morning, they will thaw and be perfect temp when it is time for lunch.
Food Should Taste Good chips. The cinnamon ones are awesome- they taste like desert and have 4 grams of fiber in every serving.
Don’t forget fresh fruit in season- I love pineapple chopped up and blueberries.
Other favorites for my kids: Almonds roasted and lightly salted from Trader Joes, Bananas (we take them everywhere), Puffins cereal served dry in a bag and Clif Z bars.

Can’t wait to try to Cinnamon chips!!! They look awesome.
